چکیده
Urolithiasis is a multifactorial disease with high incidence and recurrence rate, characterized by formation of solid deposits in the urinary tract. The most common type these stones are calcium oxalate stones. Calcium crystals can, hyperoxaluric states, interact renal epithelial cells, causing injury to epithelia. Pathogenesis urolithiasis widely investigated, but underlying mechanisms still not completely clarified. In vitro models offer insight into molecular processes which lead stone significant for evaluation prophylactic therapeutic management patients urolithiasis. this review, we summarize recently published data from studies investigating interactions cell lines, anti-urolithiatic mechanisms, results exploring possible options cultures.

Inhibition of autophagy-attenuated calcium oxalate crystal-induced renal tubular epithelial cell injury in vivo and in vitro
Accumulating evidence suggests that autophagy is involved in the pathophysiological processes of kidney diseases. However, the role of autophagy in the formation of calcium oxalate (CaOx) nephrolithiasis remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of autophagy on renal tubular epithelial cell injury induced by CaOx crystals in vivo and in vitro. We first observed that the expres...
متن کاملDiminution of oxalate induced renal tubular epithelial cell injury and inhibition of calcium oxalate crystallization in vitro by aqueous extract of Tribulus terrestris.
PURPOSE Recurrence and persistent side effects of present day treatment for urolithiasis restrict their use, so an alternate solution, using phytotherapy is being sought. The present study attempted to evaluate the antilithiatic properties of Tribulus terrestris commonly called as "gokhru" which is often used in ayurveda to treat various urinary diseases including urolithiasis. MATERIALS AND ...
متن کاملRegulation of renal epithelial cell affinity for calcium oxalate monohydrate crystals.
The binding and internalization of calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) crystals by tubular epithelial cells may be a critical step leading to kidney stone formation. Exposure of MDCK cells to arachidonic acid (AA) for 3 days, but not oleic or linoleic acid, decreased COM crystal adhesion by 55%. Exogenous prostaglandin PGE(1) or PGE(2) decreased crystal binding 96% within 8 h, as did other agents...
متن کاملEffects of different culture media on optimization of primary neuronal cell culture for in vitro models assay
Background: In vitro model studies are becoming increasingly popular for experimental research designs. They include isolation and expansion of cells of a particular tissue, such as the nervous tissue which contributes to understanding the underlying mechanisms in many pathologies. It enables the scrutinization of intracellular signaling pathways responsible for cell death. OBJECTIVES: In the ...
متن کاملIncreased calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal binding to injured renal tubular epithelial cells in culture.
The retention of crystals in the kidney is considered to be a crucial step in the development of a renal stone. This study demonstrates the time-dependent alterations in the extent of calcium oxalate (CaOx) monohydrate (COM) crystal binding to Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells during their growth to confluence and during the healing of wounds made in confluent monolayers. As determined by ...
